Kralcik, Elizabeth (Marriage - 26 Apr. 1947)

In St. Thomas’ Catholic church at Milan, Saturday morning, in a nuptial mass celebrated by the Rev. Raymond Schulz, Miss Elizabeth Kralcik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kralcik, town of Johnson, became the bride of Ben Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Miller, town of Rietbrock. Mrs. Werner Schaefer was organist.

Miss Margaret Kralcik, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor; the Misses Clara Mroczenski, Athens, cousin of the bridegroom, Lorraine Pfeffer, Edgar, and Delores Miller, Edgar, sister of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids, and Kathleen Ann Potts, Wausau, little niece of the bride, was flower girl. The bridegroom chose for his attendants Kenneth Fasse as best man; his brothers, Lawrence and John Miller, and Edward Kralcik, the bride’s brother, as groomsmen.

With her gown of white taffeta the maid of honor wore a brief veiled head dress. The bridesmaids wore similarly styled gowns of blue, pink and yellow taffeta and short veiled head dresses to match. The four carried bouquets of snap dragons, gladioli and carnations, tied with tulle bows the color of their gowns, and completed their ensembles with pearl necklaces, which were gifts from the bride. The little flower girl, in a floor length dress of white satin, and veiled head dress, carried a colonial bouquet of roses, carnations and daisies.

Lace trimmed the bodice and formed inserts in the entrained skirt of the bride’s gown of white slipper satin. It was styled with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves, ending in points. Two rows of scalloped lace bordered her full-length veil, which was worn with a tiara of seed pearls and bugle beads. Her only jewelry was a lavalier, a gift of the groom, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations.

Her mother wore a brown flowered crepe dress, while the bridegroom’s mother was dressed in black. Both had shoulder bouquets of roses and carnations.

Streamers of white, blue, pink and yellow decorated the home of the bride’s parents, where about 100 guests were entertained at a reception. At the church, bouquets of gladioli were placed on the altar. A dance in honor of the couple was given at Trianon Gardens in the evening.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Socha, Milwaukee; Mrs. Clara Socha and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Buchberger, Marathon.

The bridegroom is a veteran of World War II, having served as a motto machinist’s mate, third class, in the navy. He is now a commission route salesman for an oil company.
